Scaffolding gone - Thur 2/10/08.

Thur 2/10/08. Been in Adelaide for the week. Detoured to site on the way home from airport tonight, and was pleased to see Scaffolding has gone. External of house looks huge without the scaffolding (well in the dark anyway....).

Email from Porter Davis today-
"Hi David,
Hope you are well.
Just emailing to advise that plastering of your home should now have commence and is due for completion on Monday, with cabinets due to be installed sometime next week.
I will email you next week with further updates.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries.
Thanks and kindest regards,
Krystal."

I admit I am hanging out for stairs and cabinets. Will really start to get a feel for general livability of the house when these are in.

Has anyone else noted that many of the houses on the PD website have "put on a little size"...!! ie The Cremorne and Roland have now grown to 42sq...!! What gives..?

Some night shots. (Will replace these with day shots over weekend)

Hi Guys

House is looking great. Love the eaves. Interesting that you have eaves on the lower storey. PD didnt allow us to have eaves on the rumpus & alfresco.....

Krystal was our admin person as well, she is fantastic....

We are the only ones to have full eaves on our cremorne's.

Progress will continue, very quickly, and in no time you will be moving in.

We love our cremorne, our family n friends love the layout, so do we...:)

Nice brick by the way, "La mesa"...

Chat soon

Hi D&G,
You're right about the stairs giving the house "livability". Looks like you have a great CSC in Krystal. Makes the whole process so much easier when they communicate regularly and are switched on.

We were chatting to our SS recently about houses getting bigger, but land getting smaller. He's been in the industry for 40 years and says it's all about demand.

People are wanting bigger houses but with blocks getting smaller, he says it's a nightmare for construction because there's no site space for materials and you can't swing a cat. I guess people don't want need yard space anymore, what with home theatre and the internet in every room!! Go figure!

Thanks for response guys.

awallace. Eaves all round were part of estate requirements. Wait until you see what they insisted on for our facade...!! PD not particularly happy with their requested changes & additions.

B&P. A few bloggers have reported Krystal as being a good operator. House is progressing well, but your decking would be a nice addition. What's your $hourly rate......?

L&R. Suzi and I are so looking forward to having less yard space. We have 5.5mtrs out the laundry side of house, which will be perfect for yard space, weed control and not break the bank to pave or landscape.

I'm intrigued by your facade now - can't wait to see it done! ;-)

Hi David, Great pics, so nice when the scaffolding is removed isn't it? We had a peek at our Cremorne around midnight last night, we seem to be at the same stage. Plaster is completed, we have a garage roof and from what I could see through the laundry door also stairs! Will try and get out there this week for a better look ;-) Our CSC said "fixing" will start this week..... but enough about my house...yours is coming along great! Looking forward to some daytime pics of the front, back and sides :-)

Scaffolding is a temporary framework used to support people and material in the construction or repair of buildings and other large structures. It is usually a modular system of metal pipes (termed tubes in Britain), although it can be made out of other materials. Bamboo is still used frequently in Asia. The purpose of a working scaffold is to provide a safe place of work with safe access suitable for the work being done. This document sets out performance requirements for working scaffolds. These are substantially independent of the materials of which the scaffold is made. The standard is intended to be used as the basis for enquiry and design.
