A wee small update - Wed 10/12/08

Wed 10/12/08.

42hrs...23min...22sec to handover.

I've just returned from a lunchtime dash to site. No tradies present and all locked up. A dreaded feeling came over me that nothing had been done and that handover was threatened.

Looking through the windows however revealed the following
- we now have a rangehood.
- the HT ceiling has been repainted
- weather strips have been added to the bi-folds and laundry door, and
- yes....the bow in the HT bulkhead has been corrected

42hrs...16min...17sec to handover.

Smaller outside tasks completed included the frame around the front doors now painted gloss, and some rough edging around the top of the garage door opening corrected.

Given the painter has come and gone, I can only assume that all the paint issues ID'd during the PCI have been corrected. This backed up by the noticeable absence of all those stickers that were present only 2 days ago.

Would have been nice to get in and look, but will have to make the (positive) assumption that all is now in readiness.

No pics for this entry, but definitely a detailed update in a few days.

And to Toni, Steve and family, all the best for your PCI on Fri.

It's an exciting time.

42hrs...2min...51sec to handover.

Thanks David :-)

Love your countdown too!

Great to hear that the bow has been fixed up. Hope the painter attacked all those sticky note spots.

Hi David

I told you PD leave it to the last minute, dont know why....

Well seems like your home is just about ready for handover...The cleaners will come in early fri am, give it a quick wipe down, and sweep....just an ordinary clean, I advise you guys give it a thorough clean once you get handover.

Also, a tip for you.. Paint your garage concrete floor, either a clear coat or with colour. I highely recommend it before you start moving in. You will be surprised by all the concrete dust that comes into yr home from the garage......

PD will give you a gift when you pick up your keys, and make sure they give you all the plumber & electrical certificates, and you have all the warranty & appliance manuals.

I wish you guys all the best, for fridays handover, its very exciting, and rewarding. All your daily visits, hundreds of pics, research, late nights will come to an end on friday.

Then its the daunting task of flooring, cleaning, moving in, gardening, concreting, etc etc etc...its a huge money pit.....

Chat soon

Already got that one covered Andy. Garage floor DEFINITELY gets a a coat of paint, perhaps as early as next week.

ONE MORE SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!

Perry. Point taken. A blog without photos is like a Collingwood supporter without a tattoo. Just doesn't look complete....

Toni. 23hrs....18min....33sec to be exact.
Hope you are finding time in your busy schedule to start getting excited about your own important milestone tomorrow.

Hi David,

I'm a bit behind in my blog reading so this comment is quite late compared to every else's diligent timing.

Best of luck for the handover!!!
But a post without photos is totally unacceptable!!!

Cheers - hope the champagne is on ice :)
