Bricks-n-Mortar - Day1 - Tue 26/8.

Tue 26/8. How nice it is to see some bricks laid. Seems like an eternity that we have been waiting for a brickie and some rare blue sky. The fact that I have 4 brickies on the site may make up for some lost time (although I think they will still be challenged in matching the pace of the Neils lone brickie..!).

I am relieved to be happy with the colour of the brick. You can look at these things for hours on a demo board, website or brochure, and still not get any feel for how they will look in the flesh once laid. In fact, it can be daunting knowing if you have selected the correct colour and type.

Woo - hoo, bricks!!! Looks lovely. What colour mortar is that? It blends really nicely with your brick.
In a short time you will see such a huge difference in your place - and fabulous bricking weather today!!! ;-)

Yea, some progress with the bricks. It will go up so fast you will be amazed. Then the scaffolding will be erected and it will look messy for a while - but when the scaffolding comes back down again, it will look magic.
Our Brikie's name was Steve. Ask him if he built a Cremorne out at Lilydale back in May?

Petal. Can't remember what colour mortar we selected. I think by the time we got around Mortar on that long day at Hopetoun Interiors, I was answering "yeah..what ever.."

T&I. Will certainly ask Steve if he brick'd you house should I catch up with him again.

H2B. I should point out that of the 4 brickies, 2 of them look to be no older than 14..!
Suzi and I visited the house late yesterday arvo. Progress throughout the day was fair, although my eager eyes did note an ever so slight bow in one of the brick pillars in the garage (refer my previous notes stating how much better the tradesmanship looks in the dark..!)
Perhaps not quite enough to report to PD, but will continue to watch closely nonetheless.
