The Windy City. Tue 16/9/08

Tue 16/9/08. Take a fresh bleeding wound and rub a teaspoon of salt in. It stings......!!

That's what I felt during my visit to the site last night. As if it's been hard enough not having a brickie for 2 weeks now, the wind has torn away much of my exposed insulation wrapping and blown it to the next suburb...!! gggrrrrr.
Some quick repairs will be in order. (Maybe I should have checked my tiles..!). Anyone else suffer any damage?

I also noted my nice new front doors (Corinthian104s) had been left open and flapping in the wind...!! Relieved at no damage, but how hard is it to close a door...?

Wrapped to see air-con and heating tubes now in, as well as heater unit in roof. (No AC on roof yet).
No photos at this stage, perhaps in a few days with hopefully a fresh row of bricks.

and some fresh new wrapping to go along with those bricks!

Yep, it was very windy yesterday. Hope our tradies locked up tight last night.......

Glad that the 104's were okay ;-) If not then PD will just have to replace them. I'm not very happy about all the nail marks and split wood in our entry frame.

Hope those brickies arrive for you soon. Great that they are starting on things on the inside. Plaster soon?

Thats one of the benefits of paying a builder to do the lot - anything happens along the way, and its their problem to deal with.

Sorry you haven't found a brickie as yet. Must be disheartening having to wait so long :-(

Hi DG
Have to share your pain! Still no brickies at our place either, despite the guarantees from our administrator. Not very happy Jan.

Our wrapping also found blowing in the wind. Glenn actually went to the block and did some repairs himself before it all blew away

I am amazed at how PD do things. Our plaster has been delivered and part of it has been stacked upstairs even though we don't even have wrapping upstairs. Some of it has been destroyed in the rains of course - but as t and l said, at least it will be at PDs cost to replace.

The good news is you have had some progress this week with your ducted heated and cooling tubes in and the heating unit installed. I think we have to take pleasure in the little things :).

Fingers crossed for brickies tomorrow before the rains come back.

Hi all. Visited the site tonight to run some HT wiring. No new rows of bricks, but insulation looks to have been re-attached by I can only imagine the electricians, who were there today roughing out wiring. Still some missing bits and a few rips.

H2B. I can imagine the extent of the wind at your house given how open it is. Lucky you're bricked. Electricals commenced today, so plaster surely soon.

Petal. You never like to see your brand new house blowing away, even if it is only insulation. Damage will be easily repaired I'm sure, so not too fussed.

T&I. Yes loss of brickies very frustrating, but good that other things are happening. I comtemplated staying at the site last night trying to batten down the wrap, but thought what's the point. It aint officially mine yet anyway. I remember you saying last week that you would be bricking Monday just gone. ha... they like to tease don't they? Look forward to hearing you have made a start. Your progress to date has been incredibly fast (perhaps the fastest I've seen amongst the blogs)
