Almost bricking - Thur 14/8.

Thur 14/8/08. Just returned from a quick lunchtime dash to site. Wall insulation & plumbing have been applied over the last day or so, and bricks have been delivered.
While I was there, the heating/cooling people had just arrived and were doing some some measuring up, although they did state they were not planning on installing anything just yet.
Nice to know that bricking will commence shortly, although I was told last Friday that it would commence Tuesday just gone....!! I think they love to tease...!!

Note. There is a theory circulating that the light pole is actually straight, and it's the house that's leaning...!! Think I may hold back my Frame milestone payment until advised.

This photo is dedicated to "House to Be" who commented recently on how clean our slab was compared to theirs. Well, in the space of a few days, we are now battling the grime with you guys..!! Great for shoes..!!
.
Bricks. Note. Looking through our contract, we actually decided on Cat6 bricks, instead of the previously stated Cat5. Colour is La Mesa.

Nice floor ;-) I went to Bunnings today at Mill Park on the way to our house and bought myself a lovely pair of Burgundy wellies (Benjamin picked the colour - glad he didn't go for yellow!) best $25 bucks I've paid in along time. Our site is just mud, mud and more mud!

Won't be long till you have rows of lovely La Mesa bricks!

I see you've put your WM taps down below too, great idea isn't it? Have you extended the bench top across too? (that's if you have a front loader).

oh and I think it's the pole that's on a lean.....

H2B. In reference to your point re WM taps from the photo.
The taps half way up the wall on the left are for WM. The taps on the right & down near the floor are for trough. These will terminate into a Flick Mixer.
We don't have a front loader. We have opted for some cupboards, but no "extended bench".
Those wellies are going to be a real winner for you.

oh, okay. Didn't realise the plumbing was low for the mixers. Thanks for that (see you do learn something new everyday!). I actually forgot to ask for a mixer for the laundry so it's wall taps for us.

We moved our laundry trough to the corner and put the WM in the middle, so our bench will go from the trough across to the opposite wall and give me some extended bench space.

Love my wellies ;-)

Love to see the frame - can't wait to see ours, although likely to be about two weeks away with the weather! Seriously considering getting some gumboots - what's with all this rain! Now what really happened to that pole?

So, bricks have been delivered, and are waiting to be laid. DG, how about getting in there and laying a few? You are behind in the race!

H2B have definitely taken the lead by about a week, although I have just returned from site (another stealth mission in the dark) and was pleased to see rear roofing over rumpus & alfresco now framed, all uppper windows, incl & master bedroonm sliding door installed, and cooling/heating holes sized and cleared of timber beams.
You had your first night in the houise yet?

Perry!!!! No more races!

The Gang - all of you need a pair of wellies!

Maybe the pole was taken out in one of those night stealth missions hehehe

You'll have a 'house' looking house before you know it - even OUR bricks went up pretty quickly...and that's sayoing something!!!

Looking forward to seeing your place bricked - I don't know the La Mesa, but looks nice on the ground (yes, I know - they'll look better on your house!!!)

What colour mortar are you having with your bricks (ugh, I sound like a McD's chick - what colur mortar would you like with your bricks?!LOL!)
