A solid week - Fri 17/10/08.

Fri 17/10/08. This week has seen some good progress.

Garage trusses applied, fixing completed, portico decked, cabinets installed, front pergola built and a few repairs and lots of areas identified for repairs and touch-ups.

SS has advised that next week should see
- the return of the brickies to complete the 2 remaining timber posts (alfresco & front pergola)
- the roofers return to tile the garage roof, and
- painters making a start.

The below 3 snaps show the pergola that Sanctuary Lakes insist be added to all Cremornes as part of estate requirements. 3 other Cremornes close by also have this added..!!

WOW busy week alright! Very productive. Your SS is doing a great job.

Yes, shame about the brace.....can it be modified? Did they tell you at tender/contract that you would need this?

Pergola looks great shame though tha the Estate didn't pay for it :-) and it's nice to see the garage taking shape.

Sensational progress once again, and I love that pergola - very nice ! Christmas move in is looking good for you ;-)

I really like the pergola too and it is really moving along for you guys. Have they told you that Christmas is likely? or are they non committal at this stage?

Well..it's good to get some positive feedback on the pergola, given it is an addition I had no say in. Thanks all.

H2B. I may talk to SS about adding some more "creativity" around that pantry brace. The axtra shelf does need support, but what they have done looks a little "crude".

Petal & BelleBeau. SS once showed my the project plan to my house, which had a projected handover of 15th Dec. He did however claim at the time this would more likely miss due to some small but frustrating tasks towards the end..

Now having said this, he has conceded a few times since just how good progress has been.I detect that even he has been surprised some weeks.

Now I've been reading enough blogs to know there is still heaps of potential for slowdowns and repairs going forward, so while a Xmas handover would be nice, it's not an expectation at this stage..

H2B is still running a little ahead of us, so I'm always tracking their progress and contunually hassling Toni re her handover date.
Toni. You got a handover date?

See....?

hehehe, no......I asked SS just before we went away if he an "approx" date and he said he didn't want to give one at this stage. He said when it gets closer he'll let us know. I'm going to ask him next week when I see him as we have to give our Developers 6-8 weeks notice for the fencing and front landscaping. We aren't in any hurry, Australia Day weekend is still my cut off. I'm hoping we'll be in well and truly before then though. Pool is booked for delivery early-mid Jan. I went through the new Cremorne display at Marriott Waters yesterday.......not very nice. House plan fantastic as always but decor not the best. Saw some lovely thick QQ that PD are now displaying too.....grrrrr.

Lots happening at your place - great to see! It's a little disapointing that SS wont give you guys a date, but as he's mentioned there are a lot of things that can get in the way and cause delays and the last thing they want to do is give you false hope (hmmm.. sounds familiar). Going to be a very busy time for you around Christmas/New Year.
Why do all Cremorne's have to have the pegola in the estate? What is their reasoning?

You're right re Christmas. Here we are thinking it would be nice to get the new house for a Christmas present, yet moving house during this period is probably the last thing you'd want to be doing..
!!
Sanctuary Lakes insist the pergola be added to teh Cremorne (and perhaps a few other styles) for "street appeal". Bit strange, as I rate the Cremorne a neat and tidy view from the front.

What on earth do they insist on the front pergola for? I wondered why you had it put on - I'd not seen it done before. Doesn't look too bad, but just seems like a needless expense really....

You'll have paint happening soon!

R&amp. Have had a few good weeks..... nestled amongst a few slow ones. You can see from our time-line that Week15 was an absolute ripper. (Tradies had to pre book a car spot..!!!)

P&B. Agree. The pergola (while looking quite good) was $2,400 I hadn't anticipated. Only accepted it in the drawings after confirming it was bolted on to other completed Cremornes in the estate, and given I had heard some stories about lengthy approval processes, I didn't want to rock the apple cart.....!
