Christmas has arrived early - Fri 19/12/08

Fri 19/12/08.

ok ................. It's definitely time to expand my cooking expertise beyond an omelet and 4 min Tortellini....!! This is my "Big Bad Bastard Blanco". (BBBB). I reckon it's got a touch of attitude about it.
.
Driveway yesterday
.

Driveway today ...sealed. Interesting opinions between concreters as to how quick a driveway should be sealed after it is poured and stenciled. I've heard some concreters like to wait for a number of weeks before sealing (due to salt rise). My guy however likes to seal his driveways straight away. Will watch result with interest.
.

.

Flooring edge to Home Theatre Room. HT will be carpeted. Note the aluminium edge that boarders the timber from the carpet.
.
.

For the guys. This is the tool used for undercutting the door jams so that the laminate flooring can be laid underneath.
.

Why do Porter Davis do this??? Of all the materials to load up at the entries, sand is by far the worst...!! Turns the entries into no-go zones.
.

Another appliance with attitude. I like it.
.
And finally, a special congrats to the Neil's who now have the jingle of new keys. Well done guys. The next phase now begins. Looking forward to hearing your progress.

Wow! Your kitchen looks fantastic! The lights under the cupboards are terrific! I just love that first photo.

Well done on your flooring. You've done a fantastic job. You must be so tired. Hope you have a nice relaxing day on the 25th.

Driveway looks great, as for the sealer I have no idea.....will ask our guy when we see him.

We don't have sand at the doors, just dirt and crap from the backyard! Silly really isn't it?

Hope you get to sleep in tomorrow :-)

Thanks T. Oh yes, definitely tired at the moment. Taking delivery of thoise keys really knocks you about.
Thanks for your praises re kitchen, driveway and floor. Nothing like a positive blog comment to make all the hard work and late nights feel worthwhile.

To "Mike and Val". You have just posted a question re my driveway. but have posted it to one of my blog entries from a month ago..!
If you email me david.gaul@fennerdunlop.com.au, I'd be happy to share the details.

David, the kithcen looks stunning with the BBBB in it. The stainless steel just reflects that beautiful red. What colour is your driveway? it looks a strange orange colour on my screen. Have to say, I like the diamond pattern!!
Have a great christmas in your new home!!

Toni. When that Blanco got installed on Thursday, I just new it was worthy of an additional "B". They have a killer look about them, don't they?

Hi there Belle. The colour of the driveway is "Dusty Rose". It fits in with the colour options allowed by the estate requirements.

Valerie. I ended up paying around $87 psqm. Total job around $3,500. You can get it less. The Neil’s are getting theirs for under $70. gggrrr.
Plain concrete starts at around $55. Exposed Agg' at around $65, stencil a little more. Once you start adding colour to the mix, the price can increase significantly. Guy who did mine is "X-Flow" and does mainly western suburbs.
Good luck

Great pictures - coming together nicely. When are you moving? I like that tool you've used to do the door jams. Makes me want to rip up the stuff near the laundry and do it again. :-(

Great progress,
Just love your floors. The flooring that we have chosen is similar to yours in colour, so it was good to see the finished product, and i hope you are not bored by reading this again and again but i have to mention it that your kitchen is a show stealer.
Merry christams to you and your family.
Cheers

Perry. Aiming to be all in by next Monday. Big, Big weekend.
The undercut tool worked out to be quite handy.
Dont hestitate to call if you ever want to borrow.

Would Be Home. Are you kidding...? With what we have been through the last 6 months building, I wouldn't object to you telling me every single day how good our kitchen looks...!
Seroiusly thanks for the comment. I've stated before that our colour selections were often made with apprehension and even some doubt, but the red splash, oven and downlights was always going to be a winner.

Hi David,
Sorry, I've been AWOL for a few days. Xmas actually did happen early at our place ... 21st Dec because the kids are going away for the break.

Love that driveway, the floors and I always drool when I see that red splash of yours and the 104s :\,,,

The driveway looks like it's been paved. It's come up beautifully.
Great work on the floors too.

That BBBB is pretty spectacular once it's installed, isn't it. Can't wait for mine - but I guess I need a kitchen first. Grrr!
I can see you whipping up the Xmas turkey in that BBBB. Please post pics of THAT project :)

Have a great Xmas!

Cheers
Liana
